After attending one of Jenn Mathews’ SEO Workshop the owner of Capers in West Seattle asked Jenn to help design and develop a new website.
Capers is a fairly large retail shop located in the heart of Seattle, WA’s West Seattle neighborhood. The shop is known for it’s unique collection of local artist works as well as furniture and collections that reflect the unique lifestyle of the West Seattle community. Owner Lisa Myers has owned the shop for over 30 years and has helped guide many customers in choosing the right sofa and highlight pieces that bring a room together. She has also been a strong pivotal member of the West Seattle community of which the shop reflects as well.
The goal of the website is to reflect all that the shop entails from products to community and customer service. Jenn Mathews and Lisa meet in-person every 2 weeks in addition to their constant communication and have developed a plan to launch the website in phases. Phase 1 includes getting the basic website up with information about the shop and images reflecting products within. Phase two includes products in the shop on the website in a shopping cart form that is easy for customers to navigate and find what they need. The shopping experience will also include collections that Lisa and her team put together based on colors and accent pieces located in the shop. The third phase includes a community membership system that customers can get the level of support they would get as if they were to walk into the shop in-person.
Jenn Mathews has completed hours of research in competitive analysis, keyword analysis, and looking at demographic data to best decide how the website will be developed and how users will experience.
